Empower Hour

Empower Her: Celebrating International Women's Day

I feel incredibly blessed for my career and position. I am fortunate to be surrounded by a culture of empowerment, collaboration, and inclusivity. While I've had opportunities, I recognise that many other women have not been as fortunate, which is why I am passionate about supporting Dress for Success.

Dress for Success embodies values of empowerment and inclusivity by providing professional attire, career development tools, and support networks to help women achieve economic independence and thrive in the workplace. By supporting this cause, I hope to assist women in achieving independence which I often take for granted.

GHD and GHD in the Community have proudly partnered with Dress for Success to support the Empower Hour initiative. Through this collaboration, we aim to empower over 750 women across Australia to secure meaningful employment.

Join us in our mission to empower, uplift, and support women on their journey towards success. Your donation can make a real difference in these women's lives.

Empower Her

Wednesday 28th Feb
Do you ever reflect on a moment in your life and realise how different things could have been? I often do. Moving to Perth at 20 with no plan and a lot of naivety, I was sheltered from many harsh realities growing up in a small coastal town. Unfortunately, I learned the hard way that not everyone has good intentions. I found myself in an abusive relationship, unaware of better options, and settled for that. Without my support network and family, my life could've taken a completely different turn. I probably would not have pursued my career, I probably would not have invested in personal growth and I probably would not have prioritised my health. It's sobering to think that many women still live that reality today.

Perhaps my story fuels my passion for Dress for Success Western Australia initiatives. This organisation empowers disadvantaged women towards economic independence by supplying work-appropriate attire, mentoring, workshops, and a supportive network. I'm thrilled that GHD in the Community and Women in GHD are partnering to support Dress for Success's Empower Hour initiative as part of our International Women’s Day campaign this year.

Please consider donating to our Dress for Success Empower Hour page or boosting awareness by following Dress for Success WA on all social media platforms. I'm grateful to break free from a troubling past and be part of a workplace that values diversity and inclusivity. But I know not everyone has had the same opportunities.

You never know her background or how she got here. Let's empower the woman striving for a better reality. Join us in empowering her journey.
