This spring we invite you to join our team to: Declutter, Donate and Enspire other women.
When my Mum graduated from The College of Law, my aunt bought her a royal blue suit to wear. Mum was raising five kids on her own, never spent a cent on herself and, to be honest, there was no way she could have afforded something so lovely. I remember it clearly (think hardcore 80s fashion!) and I know this suit was incredibly special to her.
For Mum’s first job as a lawyer, she had five short-sleeved jackets in different colours, two skirts (one navy; one black) and the royal blue suit. She’d rotate over the week.
A couple of years ago, I took Mum to a Dress for Success luncheon, she teared up remembering how difficult it was for her at this time - but how important it was to dress for the job.
We’re partnering with ‘Dress for Success’ and hosting a women’s workwear clothing drive from 21 - 25 October, 2024.
